Dallas and Zoni Plemmons, have traveled to 53 nations and
established 3 churches, and 3 orphanages and schools in Haiti, Peru,
India
and Gana Africa and support missionaries in the same countries.
H e
has written a book entitled
"Hell in the land of the morning
calm" in which he shares part of his childhood and the influence
from his Godly grand
father, who was
a preacher who
rode a mule through the mountains
of North Carolina and
Tennessee preaching the gospel.
|
|
Dallas was embittered towards God and
the church because
of the way his grandfather was treated.
He enlisted in the US Army
and
in 1950, during the North Korean war, he
was captured by the Chinese at the age of 20, and was severely
tortured for about 2 months.
He was miraculously delivered from
death five times, and
made a promise to God that he would serve him faithfully as a
missionary. |
|
|
Dallas is now over 74 years of age and is
carrying out his promise to the Lord to serve Him as an evangelist
throughout the world. He and his wife Zonie are still
traveling holding revival meetings and seeing souls saved, healed
and set free. |

HELL IN
THE LAND OF THE MORNING CALM : As the sun rose
on a beautiful morning we could see Korea in the
distance. I noticed that machine guns had
been mounted in different places on the ship and
there were men watching the sky. For the
first time the reality of war was upon us.
|
|
|
|
As the boat
carrying the 27th Regiment neared the Korean shore
Dallas Plemmons began to sense the seriousness of
the conflict he was about to enter. In a
short time his unit would face a brutal and
well-equipped enemy for the first time.
|
|
|
|
In the weeks
and months ahead, a cruel and violent Communist
army would claim the lives of many of his fellow
soldiers as well as scores of innocent civilians.
|
| |
|
 |
Massacres,
imprisonment, and torture would also touch his
life; one day he would be forced to endure these
unimaginable circumstances himself.
Dallas
Plemmons' story is a compelling, first-hand
account of war-time survival in the face of
impossible odds, of genuine faith in a powerful
God, and the reality of one man's destiny that
even death could not thwart.
Dallas
Plemmons was born in the mountain country of North
Carolina. After an accident which ended his
career as a professional boxer, he found himself
on the battlefields of Korea. This would
become a turning point in his life. When the war
was over, Dallas began a career in ministry that
has taken him to 47 countries. Dallas
Plemmons Ministries has made an impact worldwide
through its meetings and crusades and orphanages
in Haiti and India. |
